Dell OpenManage Array Manager 2.5 User's Guide
Removing Dell Enclosures from the Tree View
Array Manager's enclosure management feature is implemented through the display of the Dell Enclosures storage object in the Array Manager console tree view. You can view all internal and external system probes for both your computer enclosure and any attached external storage enclosures from the same integrated Array Manager console. You are notified of any enclosure status changes while the console is open, and logged events appear in the Events tab as well as the Microsoft® Windows NT® or Windows 2000® Event Log.
To support Enclosure Management, you must install the Dell Hardware Instrumentation Package (HIP) agent. Check the release notes for more information.

This chapter has the following topics:
The first level of storage objects under the Dell Enclosures storage object are the enclosures. You will always see the main server enclosure listed first. If a server has any external storage enclosures attached, those will also be listed at the same level. The sample screen below shows the enclosure for a PowerEdge 1300/700 server listed first, followed by a PowerVault 20xS external storage enclosure.
If you right-click on an enclosure, you can see its properties by selecting Properties from the context menu that appears.
If you fully expand the enclosures, you will see the probes for each enclosure.
