In the Scales View you can manage all the scales. You can create new scales, edit existing scales or even delete existing scales. Besides, it is possible to organize the scales in categories and sub-categories.
Double-click on a scale opens the scale in the Scale Editor. Double-click on a category expands or collapses the category.
The toolbar of the Scales View contains the following actions:
Opens a blank Scale Editor where you can define a new scale. After you have saved the new scale (see File → Save), it will be inserted into the category which was selected during the creation of the new scale. If you have not selected a category the new scale will be added into the main category.
Adds a new sub-category into the currently selected category. The name of the category can be edited directly.
Expands the whole tree structure of this view. All defined scales become visible.
Collapses the whole tree structure of this view.
Toggles whether or not the Scales View selection is linked to the active editor. When this option is selected, changing to an active Scale Editor will automatically update the scale being edited in the Scales View selection. Note: Especially with a multitude of defined scales it may be useful to link the Scales View with the editor for the sake of clarity.
Makes the inner Interval View visible or invisible. The Interval View shows the defined intervals of a currently selected scale.

Which scale blocks of a selected scale will be exported depends on which scale block mode you have selected (see Scale Blocks Preferences).
The stored image data may be pasted, for instance, into Office applications later on.
You can define in the export preferences which image data shall be copied.
Note: The image data will be copied with the fixed sizes as defined in the export preferences.
The current sizes of the views can not be used since a view can be opened in several perspectives with different sizes.
