Product: FrontPage Concept Site Package: Real Estate
The package contains the FrontPage Web Template and Theme files needed to create
a web site using the "Real Estate" look.
Description: How to create a starter Web site using the included
FrontPage Web Template and Theme.
The template uses
the FrontPage navigation structure, quick link bars,
and include pages for easy editing.
Requirements: You must use Microsoft FrontPage version 2002 or later.
FrontPage Themes can be applied to Web pages or Web sites created with FrontPage or with SharePoint Team Services. Themes give sites consistent fonts, formatting, bullets, and other design elements across all of the pages on which they are used. When we created the custom sites, we created a custom Theme for each site that you can use to apply to your own site. Keep in mind that Themes change the fonts and formatting of what you already have in the site; they don’t create new pages or new content on your pages.
FrontPage Web site templates can be used to create an entire Web site from scratch. We have turned the custom sites into Web site templates so you can use them to create a basic site, and then fully customize the site with FrontPage. The site comes complete with a home page, links, and pages ready for you to add your own content into.
The zip file contains an installer (.exe) that will install the Theme and template files. Run the installer by double-clicking on it and following the prompts.

The top header, with the horizontal navigation bar, logo, and pictures, is within an "include page," created using the FrontPage Included Content Web Component. The Included Content Web Component allows you to create content once and then place it wherever you want in other pages. Included Content is easy to update even if it appears on many pages in your Web site. In this case, the logo is within the page "include_top.htm." To replace the logo with your own, simply open "include_top.htm," delete the existing Contoso logo, add your own image, and save. This will update all the other pages in your web site.
Note that the home page (index.html) does not use this include page, so you will have to insert your logo separately on the home page.
Page titles and link bar button/link titles are automatically generated by FrontPage based on the title of your page. To change the title of your page, switch to Navigation View, right-click on the page you wish to change, and choose "Rename." Type in your new name and click OK. This will change the page title and link bar titles across your web.
The Gift Shop Photo Gallery page is a page that contains a FrontPage Photo Gallery component. To edit the pictures in the photo gallery, simply double-click on the photo gallery within FrontPage. You can then delete existing pictures, add pictures and captions, and choose your preferred layout style.
You can add more pages simply by saving an existing page. Open a page and go to File > Save As. Choose a file name for your new page - it should not have spaces or special characters in it - and click the "Change" button to change the Page Title (this is what displays on navigation bars). Then, go into Navigation View and drag the page into your navigation structure to get link bars and page banners to show up.
The copyright statement is also in an "include page" called "include_bottom.htm." Open this page and edit it with your own copyright information, then save the page. This will update all the other pages in your web site.
Note that the home page (index.html) does not use this include page, so you will have to edit the copyright statement separately on the home page.
