Index >> Application Preferences
You may access the application preferences by going through the "Screen Mimic->Preferences" menu, or by pressing the Command-Comma shortcut.
The application preferences screen looks like this:
Hot Keys:
The Recording Start/Stop and Recording Pause/Resume hot key combos are displayed here. You may change these hot key combos using the following procedure:
If you attempt to choose a key combo already in use by the application or a global combo that is in use by the operating system, the application will display a message indicating that the key combo you selected is already in use.
To cancel without changing the key combo, press the escape key.
Temporary File Storage:
This is the location that Screen Mimic uses for temporary file storage during the recording process. Within the folder you specify, Screen Mimic will create another folder to use for various temporary files that it needs. After the end of each recording session, these files are deleted.
Note: Choosing an external drive for temporary file storage that uses a slow connection (such as USB), can impact application performance.
Run Screen Mimic in quiet mode:
Selecting this option will run Screen Mimic in quiet mode, disabling all of the application sounds that Screen Mimic makes in case you find them distracting.
Check for Updates on Startup:
This option allows Screen Mimic to notify you whenever an update is available. If an update is available, Screen Mimic can download and install it for you automatically.
Screen Mimic uses Andy Matuschak's excellent Sparkle framework for application updates.
Restore Defaults:
Clicking "Restore Defaults" will revert all of the application preferences to their factory defaults.
