TrackRecord Help
Importing training sessions from your Polar HRM
The quality of the recordings is very important for TrackRecord. The following tips can help you make good recordings.
- Hold the Polar at about 10 centimeters (4 inches) from your Mac's microphone.
- Don't move or rotate the watch while recording.
- Try to eliminate as much background noise as possible. Pause iTunes, mute the TV, etc.
- If you're using an external microphone, don't hold it in your hand while you record.
- The recordings are saved in ~/Library/Application Support/TrackRecord/Recordings. You can listen to these recordings with any audio application.
- TrackRecord can only import one exercise at a time. Importing multiple files or "follow-up" data won't work.
General recording tips
- Check the Sound settings in System Preferences. In the Input tab, the input device should be set to your microphone, which can be internal or external.
- On the MacBook Pro, the microphone is located under the left speaker grille, next to the keyboard. On the MacBook and the MacBook Air, it's located above the display, next to the iSight camera. On the aluminum iMac it's not next to the camera but above it, on the top edge.
- The iMac's microphone is much more sensitive compared to ones in portable Macs. Also, the Polar CS200 has a louder speaker than the RS200 or the F6/F7. These are some example settings that are known to give good quality recordings
